Tolleson Union High School District

West Point High School Performing Arts Center is Phase 3 in the construction of the new state-of-the-art high school. The 27,543 square foot facility has a capacity of nearly 700 people, making it one of the largest in the West Valley. With the design concept of “being in the light”, you will notice several unique lighting elements leading you into and surrounding you in the space“ The exterior fascia that wraps around the front and side of the building emulates the shape of a grand piano and proudly displays the high school’s mascot name. The metal ribbons on the fly loft are reminiscent of sound waves. The interior includes a new lobby, house, and back of house classrooms, including make-up rooms, locker rooms, stagecraft, dance, and a drama classroom that can also function as a black box. This performing arts center has been designed with 100% LED lighting and an integrated control network for easy and precise light adjustments. By using LED lighting, the Performing Arts Center can maintain a traditional theatrical feel while simultaneously generating less heat and lower costs.
