Alhambra Gymnasiums
Alhambra Elementary School District
Phoenix, Arizona
The students and community of Alhambra Elementary School District will soon have nine new state-of-the-art gymnasiums. Voters approved bond funding for the new construction of these K-8 schools: Alhambra Traditional School, Carol G. Peck School, Cordova Elementary School, and Madrid Neighborhood School. The following schools were also awarded in June 2019 under the same bond: Barcelona Elementary School, Catalina Ventura School, Granada Elementary School (East Campus), James W. Rice Elementary School, and Sevilla Elementary School (West Campus).
Currently, each of these schools have no indoor space suitable for physical education classes. In partnership with the community and district, ADM Group designed safe indoor spaces that will not only accommodate PE class and athletics but will also be open for extra-curricular activities and community-based events. The gymnasiums will include a regulation basketball/volleyball floor, main and auxiliary basketball goals, spectator bleacher seating, offices, and restrooms.
