Catholic Charities recently acquired an iconic building on 19th Avenue, admiringly named the “Spaceship” by staff. This circular shaped building features a two-story internal atrium space with private offices ringing the second floor. The first floor will house several of the Catholic Charities specialty departments focusing on human and social services along with a large dividable meeting space, central break and collaboration area, and client computer lab. The interior of the building will get a full facelift of new finishes including flooring, paint, lighting upgrades, minor HVAC upgrades, along with new and renovated ADA restrooms. The space will also feature a sound masking system and specialty ceiling acoustical panels to ensure the privacy of interdepartmental confidential conversations. Exterior improvements include ADA upgrades to exiting paths and a resurfacing of the existing parking lot.
